Right-wing outfit in UP warns shopkeepers, beauty parlours against employing Muslims

Muzaffarnagar, August 12, 2021 (PPI-OT):On the eve of Haryali Teej 2021, a regional festival of Hindu community, activists of a right-wing extremist’s outfit called Kranti Sena came on the streets and warned shopkeepers and beauty parlours against employing Muslim men in their businesses. They also warned people to “not allow Muslim men to apply mehndi on the hands of Hindu women as they indulge in love jihad”.

Haryali Teej, which is specially celebrated in Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, MP, Bihar and Jharkhand was celebrated on Wednesday, August 11. On this day women visit beauty parlours to adorn their hands with mehndi (hena) as part of festivity.

The extremists visited beauty parlours to check if any Muslim youth was employed there. According to reports, police did not stop them. Alishan Jafri, a journalist, put out a video on his social media account, where some men are seen conducting a drive to ‘check’ the shops in the main markets of Muzaffarnagar.

The outfit’s general secretary, Manoj Saini, said, “On the pretext of these odd jobs, Muslim youths entice Hindu girls and trap them in love jihad.” He also appealed to people not to take services of Muslim youth for Mehndi and haircut.

Rajesh Kashyap, one of the members of the outfit wrote on his social media, “If Muslim men are found working as mehendi artists on Hariyali Teej, then Kranti Sena would teach them a strong lesson in our style,”
