Rich tributes paid to Syed Ali Gilani

Islamabad, September 17, 2021 (PPI-OT):The All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir (APHC-AJK) chapter held a condolence reference for the veteran Hurriyat leader and the icon of Kashmir freedom movement, Syed Ali Gilani shaheed, at its office in Islamabad, today.

The reference was attended by Hurriyat AJK leaders, the newly-elected AJK President Barrister Sultan Mehmood Chaudhry, former AJK President Sardar Muhammad Yaqoob Khan, Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami AJK Dr Khalid Mehmood and former Speaker of AJK Legislative Assembly Shah Ghulam Qadir.

Addressing on the occasion, Hurriyat leaders expressed grief over the death of Syed Ali Gilani and said that it was difficult to fill the void created by his demise. However, they reiterated the resolve to take the mission of the veteran leader to its logical conclusion.

The speakers said that the martyred leader had dedicated his entire life for the ongoing Kashmir freedom struggle. They said that Syed Ali Gilani was kept by India in prison for several years but he never compromised his stand on the Kashmir cause. They said that he had a firm stance for the liberation of Jammu and Kashmir from Indian occupation.

The speakers said other illegally detained Kashmiris lodged in different jails are being deliberately pushed to death. They said that the Indian authorities were so mush afraid of the personality of Syed Ali Gilani shaheed that after his martyrdom, the veteran leader was forcibly buried in the darkness of night by the Indian forces and his relatives and people were not allowed to attend his funeral prayers and last rites.

The speakers reiterated their commitment to carry forward the mission of Baba-e-Hurriyat Syed Ali Gilani and to render any kind of sacrifice for this purpose. At the end, the participants prayed for the martyred leader and expressed solidarity with the bereaved family.
