Srinagar, February 11, 2022 (PPI-OT):In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the All Parties Hurriyat Conference leaders have paid glowing tributes to the prominent martyred liberation leader, Muhammad Maqbool Butt, on his 38th martyrdom anniversary, today.
Senior APHC leader, Agha Syed Hassan Al-Moosvi Al-Safvi in a statement issued in Srinagar said that Maqbool Butt was a brave and selfless leader who sacrificed his life for his people and didn’t surrender before the tyrant India. He deplored that over nine hundred thousand Indian troops have made the life of the people of IIOJK miserable.
Al-Moosvi said the sacrifices of Muhammad Maqbool Butt and other martyrs will not be allowed go waste. He maintained that the Kashmiris will achieve freedom and India will have to leave Jammu Kashmir one day.
APHC leader, Bilal Ahmad Siddiqui, in his statement in Srinagar, said 11 February will always be a day of reverence and respect for the brave Kashmiris as a reference point for the huge and uncompromising sacrifices made by Muhammad Maqbool Butt. He reiterated the Kashmiris’ resolve to continue the mission of their martyrs till it reached its logical conclusion.
APHC leaders, Khadim Hussain and Syed Sibte Shabbir Qummi, in a joint statement issued in Srinagar said the efforts and sacrifices of Muhammad Maqbool Butt for the freedom of Kashmir from Indian occupation will always be remembered. They said that Muhammad Maqbool Butt devoted himself to the cause of freedom, faced immense difficulties for challenging India, endured brutal torture in Indian interrogation centers and was eventually hanged.
APHC leader, Zamruda Habib, in her statement in Srinagar, said Muhammad Maqbool Butt and Muhammad Afzal Guru are heroes of the Kashmiri people who are proud of them. She reaffirmed the Kashmiris’ demand for the transfer of the mortal remains of Maqbool Butt and Afzal Guru to Kashmir from New Delhi’s Tihar Jail to accord them decent burial.
APHC leader, Advocate Devinder Singh Behl, in a statement in Jammu said that the Kashmiri people would not allow the sacrifice of the martyrs to go waste. He said that Maqbool Butt fought for the rights of the Kashmiri people and stood firm till the end of time and did not bow down to imperialist India. He said that the people of Kashmir would continue their struggle till complete success.
APHC leader, Abdul Samad Inqilabi, in a statement in Srinagar reiterated demand for return of the bodies of Muhammad Maqbool Butt and Muhammad Afzal Guru to their relatives in IIOJK. He said the Kashmir dispute must be resolved by giving the Kashmiris their right to self-determination for ensuring permanent peace in the region.
APHC-AJK leader, Shameem Shawl, in a statement said Maqbool Butt and Afzal Guru sacrificed their lives for a sacred cause. “We reiterate our demand for the return of the mortal remains of both the martyrs who were buried in the premises of Tihar jail,” she added.
Another APHC-AJK leader Muhammad Sultan in a statement in Islamabad said the Kashmiri martyrs have rendered precious sacrifices for the freedom of their homeland from India. He termed the observance of a complete shutdown on 9th and 11th February by the freedom-loving people of Kashmir as a referendum against the Indian illegal occupation over Jammu and Kashmir.
