Karachi, Following the instructions of IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar, the Punjab Police have achieved a significant milestone in the issuance of driving licenses across the province. In a record-breaking effort, more than 209,000 citizens received their driving licenses in a single day, covering all districts, including Lahore.
According to Punjab Police, this remarkable achievement marks a drastic increase in the rate of driving license issuance, soaring by thousands of percent compared to previous years. The spokesperson for the Punjab Police attributed this success to the adoption of the new Digital License Management and Information System (DLMIS) and the expansion of online services, which have significantly streamlined the license issuance process.
The enhanced system has offered exceptional convenience to citizens, with 137,299 licenses issued online and 72,620 obtained from traffic police offices, service centers, and police stations. This comprehensive approach caters to all types of licenses, including learner, regular, international, and renewal.
The spokesperson emphasized the pivotal role of the online issuance system and the newly active DLMIS in driving this substantial growth. In addition, the online renewal facility for learner’s licenses has been a game-changer, allowing thousands of citizens to renew their licenses conveniently from home.
IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar has stressed the importance of providing top-notch service delivery to citizens at all centers, ensuring that driving licenses are accessible to the maximum number of individuals. This initiative reflects the commitment of the Punjab Police to enhancing public services and facilitating the lives of citizens.
