Islamabad: Speaker of the National Assembly, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, has underscored the necessity of resolving the protracted disputes in Kashmir and Palestine to achieve lasting global peace.
According to Kashmir Media Service, during a meeting with Himesh Falconer, Minister and Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State at the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office of the United Kingdom, and a UK parliamentary delegation, Sadiq expressed concern over human rights violations in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir and Palestine. He emphasized that addressing these issues is crucial for regional stability.
Sardar Ayaz Sadiq reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to promoting peace and stability in the region. He also highlighted Pakistan’s historic ties with the United Kingdom, suggesting that enhancing parliamentary and economic cooperation could strengthen bilateral relations further.
The Speaker noted Pakistan’s contributions to the global fight against terrorism and its continuous efforts to strive for regional peace. The UK parliamentary delegation included British High Commissioner to Pakistan Jane Marriott, Personal Assistant to the Minister Calum Matthews, Political Counsellor Zoe Ware, Deputy Political Counsellor Mark Bailey, and Principal Political Adviser to the High Commissioner Saqib Riaz.
