Resolution Achieved in Long-Standing DHA-CDA Plot Dispute

Islamabad: A significant dispute between the Defense Housing Authority (DHA) and the Capital Development Authority (CDA) concerning the transfer of 729 plots has been resolved, marking the end of a conflict that dates back over 15 years. The resolution involves the DHA issuing allotment letters for these plots to the CDA, which will now offer them to the general public and Overseas Pakistanis.

According to Capital Development Authority, the agreement was finalized in a recent meeting at the CDA headquarters, chaired by CDA Chairman Muhammad Ali Randhawa. This meeting, attended by all board members and senior officers, addressed the resolution of a lingering issue from 2007-2008 when CDA transferred 2,412 kanals and five marlas of land to DHA under an initial agreement that failed to materialize in the exchange of the agreed-upon plots until now.

Under the new agreement, DHA has fulfilled its obligation by transferring the 729 plots back to CDA. Chairman Randhawa highlighted the strategic and proactive efforts that led to this resolution, which not only secures valuable assets for the CDA but also opens avenues for significant revenue through the sale of these plots. The funds accrued from this initiative are earmarked for urban development projects that promise to enhance infrastructure and public services across Islamabad.
