Rescue and Relief Operations in Progress in Rain-Affected Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Districts


Islamabad, In response to the recent spell of rain and snowfall, rescue and relief efforts are actively underway in the rain-hit districts of Upper Dir, Swat, and Kurram in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP). The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has mobilized to provide essential aid to the affected populations, distributing food packages and relief items to mitigate the impact of severe weather conditions.



According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the PDMA’s actions come as part of a coordinated effort to address the immediate needs of those affected by the inclement weather. Director General of PDMA, Muhammad Qaiser Khan, has directed the relevant authorities to ensure that medical supplies are readily available in hospitals to cope with any health-related emergencies that may arise during this period.



Khan emphasized the PDMA’s commitment to using all available resources for the rescue and rehabilitation of affected individuals, highlighting the agency’s role in managing disaster response and recovery operations. The ongoing efforts in Upper Dir, Swat, and Kurram districts reflect the PDMA’s dedication to providing timely assistance and support to ensure the safety and well-being of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s residents amidst challenging weather conditions.
