Lahore: A delegation of religious scholars, led by National Peace Committee Chairman Kamran Parvez Chaudhry, visited the Central Police Office to discuss interfaith harmony and religious security with Additional IG Operations Punjab, Shazada Sultan. The meeting highlighted the Punjab Police’s commitment to peace and security, with a focus on strengthening community relations through the establishment of Meesaq Centers.
According to Punjab Police, the visit featured a comprehensive dialogue on issues of interfaith cooperation and law enforcement’s role in fostering a secure environment. Shazada Sultan provided insights into the operational scope and impact of the 48 Meesaq Centers, which have been instrumental in serving minority communities across Punjab. These centers, he noted, have effectively addressed the legal and social needs of thousands, with over 69,000 citizens reporting satisfaction with the services received.
The delegation, comprising notable figures like Mufti Aashiq Hussain, Hafiz Kazim Raza Naqvi, and others, commended the Punjab Police for their proactive measures in maintaining law and order. Their discussions also extended to suggestions for enhancing security protocols and promoting religious harmony, reflecting a collaborative approach to community safety.
In response to the feedback, Additional IG Sultan affirmed the police’s dedication to improving security measures and continuing their outreach through the Meesaq Centers. This initiative underscores the Punjab Police’s broader strategy to promote peace and coexistence among diverse religious communities.
