Religious Scholar Accuses India of Promoting Obscenity in Kashmir to Erode Cultural Values

Srinagar: Agha Syed Muhammad Hadi, a prominent religious scholar in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), has accused the Indian government of deliberately promoting obscenity in the region as part of a broader strategy to dilute the cultural, social, and religious identities of Kashmiri Muslims.

According to Kashmir Media Service, Agha Hadi, while speaking at a public gathering in Srinagar, stated that the Modi government is actively encouraging indecent activities in IIOJK, a process that has intensified since the revocation of the region’s special status on August 5, 2019. He emphasized that these actions aim to align Kashmiri culture more closely with Indian norms and alienate the local population from their traditional values.

Agha Hadi further mentioned that Kashmiri children are being encouraged to engage in activities such as dancing and singing, which he views as contrary to the region’s values. He highlighted the importance of parental guidance in resisting India’s attempts to reshape the cultural landscape of IIOJK. He criticized the Indian government for undermining the rights and identity of the Kashmiri people, asserting that the promised peace and development have not materialized, leaving the local population disenfranchised.

He called for unity among Kashmiris and stressed adherence to the Quran and Sunnah as essential for countering what he described as the Indian government’s malicious tactics and preserving the Kashmiri identity.
