Islamabad: Senior leader of the APHC-AJK, Muhammad Farooq Rehmani, has issued a call for the Muslim world to unite and adopt aggressive diplomacy to halt what he describes as the severe escalations by Israel in Palestine and Lebanon since October 2023. Rehmani highlighted the urgent need for action following significant casualties and destruction in the regions.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Muhammad Farooq Rehmani expressed deep frustration over the Muslim world’s lack of unity and the failure of strategic policies which have led to approximately 42,000 Palestinians being targeted in air raids, including women, children, and their leader Ismail Haniyeh. Rehmani criticized the United Nations for its inaction, stating that it neither prevented Israel from escalating the situation nor made any significant humanitarian efforts to stop the severe bombings and ground advancements in both Gaza and Lebanon.
Rehmani lamented the global Muslim community’s shock and the apparent inactivity of its leaders in the face of ongoing crises not only in Palestine and Lebanon but also in Kashmir. He pointed out the sluggish and faint response of both the UN and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) towards the settler colonial policies pursued by Israel and India.
In his statement, Rehmani urged heavyweight states within the Muslim world, including Pakistan, to take immediate action to pressure the United Nations to intensify its efforts against the colonial attitudes of Israel and India in Palestine, Lebanon, and Jammu and Kashmir.
