Islamabad: Parliamentary Secretary for Information and Broadcasting, Barrister Danyal Chaudhry, led the inauguration of Rawalpindi’s first Walking Street on Bank Road, Saddar. The project, modeled after London’s Kensington High Street, aims to offer a pollution-free, pedestrian-friendly environment for families.

According to a statement by Press Information Department, the event was attended by notable political figures, including Members of the National Assembly Hanif Abbasi and Malik Abrar. Barrister Danyal Chaudhry emphasized the significance of the initiative as Pakistan’s pioneering effort in creating a comfortable and vibrant space for shopping and relaxation.

Barrister Danyal Chaudhry expressed pride in the swift completion of the project, underscoring the government’s dedication to providing tangible benefits to its citizens. “We believe in action, not words,” he stated, presenting the Walking Street as a testament to the government’s commitment to enhancing urban life.

The contributions of Major General Irfan Ahmed Malik, HI(M), DG ML and C, were acknowledged, highlighting his support in realizing the project. Barrister Danyal concluded the event with a call for continued progress in developing modern, livable spaces that build community and improve quality of life.
