Rawalpindi, September 8: In an effort to bolster food safety and quality at key tourist spots, Secretary Food Punjab Ehsan Bhutta conducted a thorough review of operations at the Punjab Food Authority’s office in Murree, a popular tourist destination. The visit focused on improving food safety measures and regulatory compliance among food business operators in the region.
According to Punjab Food Department, during his visit, Secretary Bhutta was briefed by the Additional Director of Operations Rawalpindi on the division’s performance and by the Deputy Director of Operations Murree on daily activities aimed at ensuring food quality. Bhutta emphasized the necessity of rigorous training for food business operators and heightened public awareness of food safety laws.
Pleased with the reduction in food-related complaints from tourists in Murree, Bhutta credited the improvement to more effective enforcement and operational strategies by food safety teams. He directed that no efforts be spared to further enhance the capacity of these teams, ensuring that food quality at tourist sites across the province remains uncompromised.
