Canberra, March 31, 2022 (PPI-OT): On behalf of the Government and the people of Pakistan as well as on my own behalf, I would like to extend greetings and best wishes to Muslims across Australia and around the world on the auspicious occasion of beginning of the holy month of Ramadan.
Ramadan is a festive month during which Muslims around the globe reflect on and renew their faith. This month marks the commemoration of the revealing of the Holy Qur’an on Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
Muslims honour each day of Ramadan as a day of patient endurance through fasting, and each night as a night of gratitude through prayers. This month is revered for nurturing compassion, sacrifice, and empathy for others.
Every year, during this blessed month, we witness the immense generosity and kindness of Muslims around the world who take special care of those afflicted by hunger, poverty, and disease. In this regard, I appreciate and commend the humanitarian services provided by our Pakistani-Australian community to their fellow citizens all around the year and especially during the testing times of Covid pandemic.
I pray to Allah Subhanahu WA Ta’ala that may this month of blessings be a time of contemplation and celebration for all of you. May peace and prosperity find us during this holiest of months and may Allah’s blessings and mercy be upon us all.
Ramadan Mubarak!
