London, August 07, 2023 (PPI-OT): Hundreds of people marched across Europe in connection with Youm-e-Istehsal Kashmir to apprise the world of the grave humanitarian situation in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir. The demonstrations, on a joint call by Tehreek-e-Kashmir UK and Europe, were held to mark the fourth anniversary of India’s unilateral actions in IIOJK on August 05, 2019. Rallies and protests were held in different cities of Europe, including Barcelona, Spain, outside Norwegian Parliament, Italy, Glasgow, UK, and Manchester, UK. Diaspora community members of Kashmir, Pakistan and their allies held a Kashmir march from Parliament square to Indian High Commission in London, UK.

Tehreek-e-Kashmir UK also launched a digital campaign across London to sensitize people about the situation in the occupied territory. The vans with digital billboards ran across the city, showing images from occupied Kashmir, depicting grave situations which demand attention from the international community. President of Tehreek-e-Kashmir UK, Fahim Kayani attended a rally in Brescia as a keynote speaker. “The participants here in this rally organised by justice-loving people in Italy, and thousands of others like you across the world, stand in support of unyielding struggle of Kashmiris in IIOJK to resist occupation and achieve their right to self-determination,” Fahim Kayani said.

Italy stands with Kashmiris in their struggle to stop India from dehumanizing them and New Delhi’s settler-colonial project to remove Kashmiris culturally, politically, and ethnically,” he added. Ch. Babar Warriach, President of Tehreek-e-Kashmir Italy, called for respect to fundamental freedoms and basic human rights of Kashmiris. “International community must stand up and force India to reverse all illegal and unilateral measures taken on or after 5 August 2019,” he added.

“Indian colonialist rulers have put their machinery in motion which is fast moving to accelerate the process of genocide they have systematically put in place through their proxies since October 27, 1947,” he said. In Spain, Raja Shafiq Tabassum, President of Tehreek-e-Kashmir condemned the Modi regime’s illegal action to repeal Kashmir’s special status. “Kashmiris and the international community reject any process conducted by India in Kashmir, in any form whatsoever,” he maintained.

He said the Indian troops are involved in heinous crimes like extrajudicial killings, arbitrary detention, illegal abductions, torture, use of rape as an instrument of suppression, burning of houses, villages and townships and destruction and desecration of religious places.”

Senior Vice President of Tehreek-e-Kashmir Europe Mehmood Sharif said that Indian forces were involved in the land grabbing and hundreds of thousands of acres of land has been taken over by the forces. Demonstrators across the UK and Europe sought immediate release of Kashmiri political detainees, including Masarat Aalam Butt, Shabbir Ahmed Shah, Mohammad Yasin Malik, Aasiya Andrabi, Nahida Nasreen, Fehmeeda Sofi and Khurram Parvez.
