Rallies Across Islamabad and AJK Amplify Support for Kashmir Solidarity Day

Islamabad, Rallies and events unfolded across Islamabad and various cities in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) today to commemorate Kashmir Solidarity Day, demonstrating unwavering support for the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK). These gatherings were a vivid display of solidarity, calling attention to the continued struggle of Kashmiris under Indian occupation.

According to Kashmir Media Service, a notable rally in Islamabad was orchestrated by the Kashmir Liberation Cell, with All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir chapter General Secretary Sheikh Abdul Mateen at the helm. The event saw participation from a wide spectrum of society, including APHC-AJK leaders Chaudhry Shaheen, Zahid Ashraf, Manzoor Ahmed Dar, and Mushtaq Ahmed Butt. A signature campaign against the Indian occupation was also initiated, marking a significant moment of collective action.

In the capital city of Muzaffarabad, Pasban-e-Hurriyat Jammu and Kashmir spearheaded a solidarity rally that drew a considerable crowd to Burhan Wani Shaheed Chowk. Led by Chairman Uzair Ahmed Ghazali and other prominent figures, the rally featured a human chain symbolizing unity with IIOJK’s residents, alongside banners and flags that conveyed messages of resistance and hope.

Mirpur hosted a rally by the Jammu and Kashmir Pir Panjal Freedom Movement at the Mirpur Mangala bridge, with leaders Zaheer Jaral, Ijaz Mir, and Khawaja Ayaz Wali Muhammad leading chants that resonated with the sentiments of Pakistani identity and the quest for rights and freedom from India.

Additionally, the Kashmir Journalists Forum organized a discussion that brought together thought leaders and activists, including former director of the Kashmir Liberation Commission Sarwar Hussain Gilgiti and Hurriyat leader Abdul Hameed Lone. The forum highlighted the urgent need for a resolution to the Kashmir dispute, echoing the resilience of the Kashmiri people despite severe adversities and reaffirming Pakistan’s role as a steadfast supporter of the Kashmiri cause.

These events across Islamabad and AJK reflect a deep-seated solidarity with the Kashmiri struggle for self-determination and freedom, emphasizing the region’s collective voice against oppression and in support of peace and justice.
