Jammu, In the Rajouri district of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, a man has been legally charged for using a Virtual Private Network (VPN) application on his mobile phone, highlighting the stringent controls on internet services in the region.
According to Kashmir Media Service, 30-year-old Mazhar Iqbal from Dhanore Jaralan village was booked under various sections of the Indian Penal Code at Darhal police station. The arrest followed an order by Additional District Magistrate Rajeev Kumar Khajuria to suspend VPN services in the district, a move aimed at curbing the use of restricted internet services. This incident marks a continuing trend, as this is not the first instance of legal action taken against individuals for similar violations in the area.
