New Delhi: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi paid a visit to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in New Delhi, where he engaged with patients and their families who are waiting for treatment.
According to a statement by Kashmir Media Service, Gandhi interacted with those at AIIMS, listening to their concerns and sharing their written notes with his team. Videos shared by the Congress party show Gandhi assuring the patients and their attendants, who have reportedly been waiting months for treatment.
The Congress party highlighted the challenges faced by individuals coming from distant regions, who are forced to sleep on roads and footpaths due to the lack of available accommodations. They criticized the current state of affairs at AIIMS, attributing the situation to the insensitivity of both the central and Delhi governments.
The party accused the Modi government and the AAP-led Delhi administration of neglecting their responsibilities toward the patients and their families. The Congress emphasized the urgent need for government intervention to address the hardships faced by those seeking medical attention at AIIMS.
