Rahul Gandhi Labels Electoral Bonds as “World’s Biggest Scam” in Hyderabad Rally

Hyderabad, At a rally on the outskirts of Hyderabad, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi criticized the electoral bonds scheme, labeling it the “world’s biggest scam” and alleging Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s undue influence over the Election Commission and other state apparatus.

According to Kashmir Media Service, Gandhi’s speech took a critical tone as he referred to the Enforcement Directorate as the “Extortion Directorate,” accusing the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of corruption and manipulation. He argued that the BJP uses threats and financial leverage to secure large-scale infrastructure projects for cooperating companies, citing a quid pro quo arrangement facilitated by electoral bonds.

Gandhi also claimed that the Congress party’s bank accounts were frozen as part of these manipulative tactics, yet he maintained that the Congress remains undaunted in its opposition to the BJP. He drew attention to the recent political developments in Telangana, where Congress overcame the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), dubbed as BJP’s “B team,” projecting confidence in defeating the BJP in upcoming national elections.

Further intensifying his critique, Gandhi accused the BJP of intending to dismantle the Indian Constitution, vowing that the Congress would protect democratic foundations. He contrasted the alleged cronyism of the Modi administration with the Congress’s commitment to truth and public welfare, touching on the agrarian crisis and claiming widespread farmer suicides under the current government’s policies.

Rahul Gandhi concluded his address by emphasizing the Congress’s resolve to uphold democracy and constitutional integrity against what he perceives as the monopolistic and self-serving political strategy of the BJP.
