New Delhi: Senior Indian National Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has accused the Modi government of obstructing his efforts to visit Sambhal, Uttar Pradesh, following a police operation that resulted in the deaths of six Muslims during a survey at the Mughal-era Jamia Masjid.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Gandhi asserted in a statement that as the Leader of the Opposition, it is his constitutional right to meet the families affected by the police firing. He expressed frustration that the BJP government has not allowed him to make the trip, even alone.
Gandhi reiterated his commitment to defending the Constitution, stating, “This is the new India of Narendra Modi, where the Constitution is being dismantled, but we will continue to fight.”
