Rahul Gandhi Criticizes Indian Education System as ‘Fraudulent’ in Lok Sabha

New Delhi: Rahul Gandhi, the Leader of Opposition, launched a strong critique against the Indian education system during the Lok Sabha’s Budget Session, labeling it as fraudulent and suggesting that it caters to the wealthy who can afford to manipulate its outcomes.

According to Kashmir Media Service, Gandhi’s comments came amid a discussion on paper leaks in the NEET exams, a recurring issue that has marred the system’s credibility. He directly addressed Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, demanding to know what measures are being taken to resolve these issues, which he claims affect millions of students’ trust in the system. Minister Pradhan responded sharply, dismissing Gandhi’s accusations as “lies”.

This exchange has ignited a heated debate in Parliament, with opposition members rallying for justice for the students who they believe are victims of these alleged leaks. The government, however, asserts that there is no substantial evidence to prove that such a leak occurred, despite previous incidents.

The ongoing Budget Session, which opened today, is set to delve into the financial agenda for the fiscal year 2024-25, with the Union Budget presentation scheduled for July 23.
