Rahul Gandhi Accuses RSS of Covert Attacks on Indian Constitution.

Nagpur: Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi launched a sharp attack on the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), adding that the Hindutva organization is making “sly assaults” on the Indian Constitution.

According to Kashmir Media Service, speaking at the Honour Constitution Conference in Nagpur, Gandhi argued that the RSS lacked the courage for an open challenge to the Constitution, instead opting for secretive methods to undermine it.

Gandhi underscored the Constitution as a ‘mantra of life’ crafted by a Dalit leader Dr. B.R. Ambedkar and inspired by the legacies of figures such as Lord Gautam Buddha. “The RSS and Bharatiya Janata Party are striking at the heart of this Constitution covertly because they know a direct assault would be exposed,” he asserted.

He said the BJP government is enabling inequality, asserting that “injustice is now being done to 90 percent of the population by a select few,” while emphasizing the need for a Caste Census to address these disparities. Gandhi said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi was avoiding the Caste Census, stating, “PM Modi has lost sleep over our demand for a Caste Census, calling it divisive.” He stressed that despite opposition, the Congress party would push for breaking the 50 percent cap on reservations to ensure broader equity.

Taking aim at the BJP’s policies, Gandhi criticized the disparity in how struggling farmers and large industrialists are treated, accusing the government of penalizing small borrowers while major defaulters flee with impunity.
