Jammu: Rahul Gandhi, the Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha and a prominent Congress member, has accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of revoking the special status of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) to benefit his corporate friends, specifically naming billionaires Adani and Ambani.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Rahul Gandhi made these accusations during a poll rally at Sangaldan in the Banihal Assembly constituency of occupied Jammu and Kashmir. He criticized the Indian government, claiming it is heavily influenced by corporate interests held by Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, and their corporate allies. Gandhi highlighted the adverse effects of this alliance on the region, particularly in terms of employment.
He further claimed that Prime Minister Modi’s confidence has been significantly undermined by the unity of opposition parties under the INDIA bloc, an alliance poised to challenge Modi’s leadership. “We have finished Modi psychologically. I sit in front of him in Parliament and I know his confidence is gone… Now a little time has left, we will remove Modi and BJP from government,” Gandhi stated at the rally.
Gandhi also touched upon the severe unemployment issues in occupied Jammu and Kashmir, describing them as some of the worst in the region, exacerbated by the government’s failure to create job opportunities for the youth.
