Rahim Yar Khan Police Rescue Abducted Citizens and Neutralize Dacoit in Operation

RAHIM YAR KHAN: In a decisive operation spearheaded by the Rahim Yar Khan Police, authorities successfully rescued two citizens and eliminated a notorious dacoit, following directives from Inspector General of Police Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar. The operation took place in the Kacha area and resulted in the rescue of Asif and Bilal, who had been abducted for nearly two months.

According to Punjab Police, the two men were kidnapped on September 26, 2024, through a scheme in Sadiqabad and were found bound in sugarcane fields. Police forces engaged with the criminals in the Paka Chandia border area of Sindh, where the armed confrontation led to the death of the wanted dacoit, Nadir Kosh. Kosh, implicated in numerous crimes including the killing of Constable Akbar Gopang and an assault on Sub-Inspector Rana Ramzan, was reportedly killed by gunfire from his accomplices during the skirmish. A Kalashnikov and several rounds of ammunition were seized from him.

The operation, conducted under the supervision of DSP Bhong and with involvement from CIA Sadiqabad, SHO Bhong, and other police units, concluded with the escape of Kosh’s accomplices into nearby fields. A thorough search led to the discovery of the abductees in the area. The police had effectively cordoned off the surroundings to facilitate the rescue.

IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar commended the efforts of DPO Rizwan Umar Gondal and the police team, urging continued operations against criminal elements to protect public safety. In response to the success of the mission, local citizens and members of civil society expressed their appreciation for the police’s actions and the safe return of the hostages.
