Quetta: In a pivotal meeting chaired by Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Muhammad Anwar Kakar, railway officials and affected society members convened to address grievances regarding the non-fulfillment of promises made after the demolition of shops in 2018. The assembly aimed to expedite the resolution of longstanding issues impacting local shop owners and improve conditions in railway quarters and society areas.
According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Balochistan, the meeting served as a follow-up to complaints lodged at the Joint Road Open Court, where society members reiterated unresolved commitments about the replacement of their demolished shops. The session, which included DCO Saeed Ahmed and Chief Controller Muhammad Kashif among other railway officials, provided a platform for both sides to present detailed briefings on the matter.
Responding to the concerns raised, Additional Deputy Commissioner Kakar ordered the provision of necessary documents to the affected parties and assured prompt action to rectify the situation. Discussions also covered the state of cleanliness in railway living quarters and surrounding areas, indicating a broader initiative to enhance the living and working conditions associated with the railway sector in Quetta.
