Quetta: A specialized training workshop for the Balochistan Health Card Program was conducted at the Balochistan University of Information Technology, Engineering and Management Sciences, aimed at enhancing healthcare delivery under the program. The session was supported by GZ German Cooperation and Khyber Medical University.

According to Directorate General Public Relation – Government of Balochistan, the workshop featured presentations from key figures including Asadullah Kakar, the Chief Executive Officer of the Balochistan Health Card Program, and other senior health officials. Kakar highlighted the success of the health card system, now nine months old, which has enabled residents of Balochistan to receive treatment for major health issues like cancer and heart disease at no cost through a digitized platform. Over 1200 hospitals nationwide are participating in this program, which allows any resident with a national identity card to receive medical services without the need for a formal recommendation.

Further details were shared by Director Admin Dr. Ahmed Wali, who stressed the importance of registering family details with NADRA to ensure all family members can benefit from the health services. The workshop also introduced a mobile application that helps patients locate the nearest panel hospital and includes an effective monitoring system to gather post-treatment feedback from patients to improve service delivery continually.
