Quetta: The Department of Sports and Youth Affairs of Balochistan in collaboration with the Quetta District Administration has organized a notable cycling event titled “Peace for Health. Health for Peace,” starting from Botams and concluding at Askari Park on Airport Road. The event aims to foster community health and peace through sports engagement.
According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Balochistan, Jan Alam, the organizer of the Quetta Cycle Race and General Secretary of the Balochistan Cycling Association, has called on all participants to ensure timely presence. The race is open to a wide array of cyclists, including professionals, masters, youth, and elites, emphasizing broad community participation.
The race features various categories to accommodate different skill levels and ages, with a significant turnout expected from departmental athletes, schoolchildren, and female cyclists, particularly from Bitums. Notably, the professional cycling team of Sui Southern Gas Company has also arrived in Quetta to participate.
Alam reaffirmed the Balochistan Cycling Association’s ongoing commitment to promoting cycling in the region. The event is supported enthusiastically by local government officials, including Deputy Commissioner Quetta and Director General of Sports Asif Longo, who are credited with advancing sports initiatives in the area.
