Quetta: In a major push for enhancing the health infrastructure, Quetta’s tertiary care hospitals, which serve as crucial treatment centers for all of Balochistan, have been directed to overhaul their sanitary conditions and shift from temporary fixes to sustainable health solutions. The directive, aimed at restoring public confidence in the provincial health services, mandates immediate action from all Medical Superintendents (MSs) and District Health Officers.
According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Balochistan, the Chief Minister of Balochistan, Mir Sarfraz Bugti, emphasized the necessity of identifying problems in hospitals in writing to facilitate ongoing review and prevent resource wastage. The Chief Minister’s plan focuses on immediate and substantial improvements in health services for both emergency and general care in government hospitals. He stressed that the performance of hospitals in all districts must improve without delay.
Furthermore, Chief Minister Bugti outlined his vision for the health sector, signaling a departure from past practices by proposing reforms aimed at transforming health services into a center of public service. He declared a zero-tolerance policy towards corruption within the health department, asserting that strict actions will be taken against those found guilty of corrupt practices.
The initiatives announced reflect a serious commitment to achieving the health sector goals set by the provincial government and improving the quality of health facilities across Balochistan.
