Quetta: In a significant meeting focused on enhancing environmental justice, Executive Director of the Forum for Dignity Initiative (FDI) Uzma Yaqoob discussed pivotal issues with Nasimur Rahman Khan Malakhil, the Provincial Adviser for Environment and Climate Change. The session centered on the intersection of environmental policy and social equity.
According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Balochistan, Yaqoob briefed Adviser Malakhil on the recent initiatives and conferences organized by FDI in Quetta, aimed at promoting a just environment free from discrimination based on gender or other social markers. The discussions highlighted the importance of ensuring that environmental policies foster equal development opportunities and enhance the quality of life for all, regardless of gender, color, or race.
Adviser Malakhil lauded the efforts of FDI and reiterated the government’s commitment to upholding environmental justice as a cornerstone of societal progress. He emphasized that providing equitable access to health, education, and constitutional rights is fundamental to achieving these goals. Malakhil assured full support from his ministry to initiatives promoting these principles.
Expressing gratitude for the government’s support, Yaqoob expressed optimism that the collaboration would serve as a benchmark for the rest of the country, particularly in advancing environmental justice in Balochistan.
