Quetta Development Authority Warns Against Unauthorized Construction Projects in Quetta

Quetta: The Quetta Development Authority (QDA) has issued a warning regarding multiple residential schemes being developed illegally in Quetta and its surrounding areas. These developments are in violation of the QDA Ordinance of 1978, which mandates obtaining specific permissions and approved plans for any construction activities.

According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Balochistan, Zeen Kasi, the Director of Planning and Commercial at QDA, reported that numerous private residential projects are currently under construction without adhering to the legal prerequisites. The QDA Ordinance of 1978 requires that all constructions, including residential colonies, commercial centers, governmental and non-governmental offices, petrol pumps, signboards, and factories within Quetta Tehsil, must have prior permission and approved plans from the QDA. Kasi emphasized that any construction lacking such approvals could be subject to demolition for being unlawful.

Furthermore, the QDA has appealed to the public to refrain from purchasing or selling properties within residential colonies, societies, or private residential projects that lack the necessary permissions and approved maps. The authority has also indicated that imminent actions are planned against all illegal schemes and other unauthorized constructions in the area, and a strategic approach has been devised to address these infringements.
