Quetta, Following directives from the higher authorities of Balochistan, a coordinated operation led by local administration, traffic police, and the Regional Transport Authority resulted in the seizure of illegal rickshaws and the arrest of individuals involved in tampering vehicles.
According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Balochistan, the operation was conducted under the vision of Chief Minister Mir Sarfaraz Bugti and on special instructions from Commissioner Quetta Division Hamza Shafakat. During the raids, 16 illegal rickshaws and two altered rickshaws were confiscated. Tools used for tampering vehicles were also seized and handed over to the traffic police for further action. The crackdown involved various officials including SP Traffic Madam Shabana and DSP Traffic City Zameerul Haque.
Authorities emphasized that strict measures will continue against illegal rickshaw operations and those involved in tampering. The action aligns with efforts to improve the city’s traffic system by eliminating illegal practices that compromise public safety and order.
