Quetta: Following directives from the Commissioner of Quetta Division and Administrator of the Metropolitan Corporation, Muhammad Hamza Shafaqat, an anti-encroachment operation was carried out on Joint Road. The operation was led by Ali Raza Durrani, the head of the anti-encroachment cell, who along with his team, seized goods placed outside several hotels and addressed other obstructions affecting traffic and pedestrian flow.
According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Balochistan, the enforcement action included the removal of tables, chairs, and carriages that extended beyond the premises of the hotels into the public pathway. Hotel owners received strict warnings that legal actions would be enforced if they failed to comply with these regulations. Additionally, all carriages were relocated to a designated area to prevent them from blocking the road, ensuring smoother traffic and pedestrian movement along Joint Road.
The Metropolitan Corporation emphasized the importance of maintaining clear pathways and adhering to city regulations to avoid similar punitive measures in the future. The ongoing efforts are part of a broader initiative to enhance city management and urban living standards in Quetta.
