Quality education, skills can drive country toward progress: Ahsan

Islamabad, March 11, 2023 (PPI-OT): Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal has stressed the need to develop youth’s IT skills for making country’s economy better. Addressing a ceremony at Pakistan Institute of Development Economics, he said that we also need to focus on equity in education and health.

The minister said Pakistan needs to curb tax evasion, increase tax collection, and increase its exports from around 30 billion dollars to 100 billion dollars in the next 5 to 8 years. Ahsan Iqbal said the climate situation needs to be tackled. Most importantly, he said, we need to tackle the issue of energy, which is a huge drain on Pakistan’s foreign exchange reserves.
