Karachi: Leaders, academicians, and youth representatives gathered at the Marriot Hotel in Karachi on January 2, 2025, to mark the 148th birth anniversary of Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah. The event, titled “Quaid aur Bachay,” was hosted by Chairman Youth Parliament Rizwan Jaffer and attended by Chairman Senate Syed Yousif Raza Gillani, along with other prominent figures.

According to Press Information Department, Chairman Senate Syed Yousif Raza Gillani emphasized Quaid’s enduring legacy of hope, courage, and dedication. He expressed his honor in addressing an event commemorating a leader dedicated to the nation’s prosperity and its youth. Gillani noted the President of Pakistan’s initiative to celebrate Quaid-e-Azam’s birth anniversary with the “Quaid aur Bachay” program, appreciating President Asif Ali Zardari’s nomination for him to lead the event. He congratulated the Youth Parliament for their efforts in organizing the celebration and pledged the Senate’s support for future initiatives.

Gillani highlighted the significance of aligning the event with the Youth Parliament, recognizing the young attendees as key players in Pakistan’s future. He recounted his political journey and his family’s historical involvement in the Pakistan resolution, underscoring efforts made during his tenure as Prime Minister to decentralize powers through unanimous parliamentary amendments. Addressing the youth, he urged them to acquire new skills, engage with technological advancements, and actively participate in the democratic process.

Rizwan Jaffer, Chairman of the Youth Parliament, expressed gratitude to Chairman Senate for his role in supporting the event and youth initiatives. The gathering was also attended by a diverse group of individuals, including Dr. Muhammad Ali Shaikh, Atif Iqbal, Abdul Aleem Lashari, Munir Ahmed Malik Advocate, and several others from various professions, highlighting the broad support for celebrating Quaid-e-Azam’s legacy.
