Qila Saifullah, In a significant meeting chaired by Assistant Commissioner Saad Kaleem Zafar, who also heads the Price Control Committee, local government officials and various community representatives committed to enhancing public welfare and implementing stringent price controls. The discussions focused on improving living conditions and ensuring fair pricing for essential services and goods in the region.
According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Balochistan, the meeting was attended by key local figures including Chairman Municipal Committee Syed Akbar Kakar, Deputy Chairman Murad Khan Kakar, and In-charge of the Price Control Committee Section Dar Faiz Muhammad. The session aimed to address the economic challenges facing the majority of Qila Saifullah’s population, acknowledging the widespread poverty and the need for substantial government action.
Assistant Commissioner Zafar emphasized the government’s dedication to utilizing all available resources for the betterment of the community and maintaining strict oversight on market prices to prevent exploitation. He announced plans to update the price list for food items to ensure quality and affordability, stating that non-compliance would result in severe penalties, including the possibility of sealing non-compliant shops.
The meeting also covered transportation issues, with discussions on adjusting fares for toddy (local transport vehicles) in line with fluctuating petrol prices to provide safer and more affordable travel options. Zafar highlighted the necessity of regulated vehicle loading to prevent overburdening, which poses risks on the national highways.
The gathering, which included representatives from Anjuman Tajran and various associations, was unified in its support for the proposed measures, showing a collective commitment to cooperate with government efforts aimed at providing relief and ensuring safety for the populace.
