Islamabad: The Ambassador of Qatar to Pakistan, H.E. Ali Mubarak Ali Essa Al-Khater, met with the Minister of State for IT and Telecommunication, Ms. Shaza Fatima Khawaja, to discuss bilateral collaboration in the fields of IT, telecommunications, startups, and cybersecurity. The meeting highlighted the potential for joint ventures and initiatives between the two nations in these sectors.
According to Press Information Department, the discussion emphasized the longstanding friendly relations between Pakistan and Qatar, with a focus on expanding cooperation in IT and telecommunications. Ms. Khawaja expressed Pakistan’s interest in deepening ties with Qatar, particularly in the cybersecurity domain. She advocated for the signing of Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) between relevant institutions in both countries and encouraged joint business ventures involving IT companies.
Furthermore, the Minister highlighted the importance of facilitating exchanges between students and startups to strengthen bilateral relations. She also urged Qatar to ease visa procedures and market access for Pakistani IT companies. Ambassador Al-Khater assured full cooperation from Qatar in these endeavors.
Additionally, Ms. Khawaja addressed the launch of Digital Dialogue Pakistan, describing it as a significant step towards inclusive, transparent, and technology-driven governance. The platform aims to foster engagement and collaboration among government bodies, private sector leaders, and citizens, underscoring the commitment of the current government to leverage technology for improved governance.
