Qalat Deputy Commissioner Chairs Meeting on Sugar Distribution Issues

Qalat, Deputy Commissioner Flight Lieutenant Retired Bilal Shabbir led a crucial meeting with local Chinese sugar dealers and government officials to address several pressing issues in sugar distribution within the district. The agenda included discussions on the introduction of new sugar dealers (dilran), challenges faced by them, issuance of new licenses, prevention of sugar smuggling, and the allocation of sugar quotas.

According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Balochistan, the meeting saw contributions from Additional Deputy Commissioner Siraj Baloch, Superintendent General Haji Ibrahim Bengalzai, Superintendent Revenue Malik Habib Mohammad Shahi, and Senior Clerk Babu Salam Mengal, alongside the regional Chinese dealers of Kalat and Mangchar. Deputy Commissioner Shabbir emphasized the need for these dealers to form an association to collectively address and resolve their issues, proposing a census-based quota allocation for the regions of Kalat and Mangchar.

To combat sugar smuggling effectively, the Deputy Commissioner announced that the district administration would closely monitor the activities of sugar dealers. He also declared that dealers whose vehicles fail to deliver sugar on time will face bans, ensuring a stable supply of sugar throughout the district.
