Punjab Special Branch Reviews Regional Performance and Emphasizes Technology in Intelligence

Lahore, The 62nd Regional Officers Conference of the Punjab Special Branch was held at its headquarters under the leadership of Additional IG Zulfiqar Hameed. Senior officials, including the DIG Security and Intelligence and all regional officers, convened to conduct an extensive performance review across all regions.

According to Punjab Police, the Additional IG Special Branch oversaw the evaluation of the Automated Regional Intelligence Reporting System (ARIS) on a region-wise basis. Zulfiqar Hameed instructed that modern technology should be integrated into the daily preparation of situation reports. He emphasized that his personal oversight would extend to the reporting of prices, especially the Ramadan package, indicating a move towards heightened accountability and precision in operations.

Hameed also pointed out that the adoption of modern technology is expected to significantly enhance the operational efficiency of the Special Branch. Moreover, he directed the use of the ARIS database to assist in the creation of analytical reports, demonstrating a strategic approach to utilizing available data resources. The conference also noted the ongoing up-gradation of Special Branch infrastructure in all districts, reflecting a concerted effort to improve intelligence capabilities within the region.
