Punjab Public Service Commission Updates Recruitment Regulations

Lahore: The Punjab Public Service Commission (PPSC) has issued updates to its recruitment criteria for a series of posts within the Board of Revenue, Punjab. This follows a previous amendment announced in August 2025. The changes pertain to the selection process for roles such as Tehsildar, Consolidation Officer, Hill Torrent Officer, and Reader to Member Board of Revenue, all classified under BS-16.

The revised guidelines, part of Advertisement No. 18/2023, were initially published on October 4, 2023, with applications closing on October 19, 2023. They were detailed in the “Jang” newspaper. The update primarily affects the scoring and interview process for candidates.

Candidates are now required to achieve a minimum of 40% in each exam paper and 50% in the aggregate to qualify. Notably, excluding those taking the Combined Competitive Examinations (PMS), the top-scoring candidates from other written exams will progress to the interview stage. The shortlist will follow a 1:5 ratio, a practice consistent with the PPSC’s one-paper multiple-choice question tests.

Successful candidates must also secure at least 50% in the interview to be considered for the final merit list. Other conditions outlined in the original advertisement remain unchanged.

The announcement is rooted in amendments to the Policy Decision-2022 and PPSC Regulation-2022, reflecting ongoing efforts by the PPSC to refine its recruitment processes.
