Punjab Public Service Commission Cancels Recruitment for 690 Educational Posts

Lahore: The Punjab Public Service Commission (PPSC) has announced the cancellation of recruitment processes for numerous teaching positions within the Punjab Higher Education Department, specifically in the commerce stream. The cancellation affects a total of 690 vacancies across various levels of seniority and specializations.

According to Public Service Commission Punjab, the PPSC had previously advertised these positions on December 20, 2023, with applications due by January 5, 2024. The positions included 138 posts for Senior Instructor/Assistant Professor and 552 posts for Instructor/Lecturer. These roles ranged from subjects like English, Islamiyat, Commerce, Economics, Mathematics, to more specialized areas such as English Shorthand and Computer Science/Information Technology.

The withdrawal of these advertised posts is attributed to administrative issues within the Punjab Higher Education Department. The PPSC has clarified that the fees paid by applicants for these positions will be retained as valid for one year. During this period, applicants will have the opportunity to apply their fees towards other posts that may be advertised by the PPSC.

This cancellation is a significant development for potential candidates who were looking to secure positions in educational roles within the government sector. The PPSC has not yet announced any additional information regarding future recruitments or specific details on the resolution of the administrative issues that led to this decision.
