Lahore, September 27, 2023 (PPI-OT): On the instructions of the Inspector General of Police Punjab, the crackdown by the Punjab Police against the dangerous proclaimed offenders involved in serious crimes including murder, robbery and kidnapping is rapidly continuing without interruption. In the ongoing operation, another A category culprit has been arrested and brought back to Pakistan from Abroad. Spokesperson of Punjab Police said that this year, the total number of criminals arrested from abroad wanted in different crimes has reached 118 and has been brought back to Pakistan. These criminals were wanted by various districts of Punjan including Lahore Police. Spokesperson of Punjab Police further said that the dangerous criminal Sagheer Abbas who killed the citizen in Mianwali and fled to Saudi Arabia after the incident, has reached Pakistan due to continuous follow-up. Punjab Police also issued red notice from interpool for his arrest, criminal has been handed over to the Mianwali Police for further action.
While congratulating the Mianwali police team for arresting the dangerous proclaimed offender present in the A category, IGP said that the criminal should be punished by completing the legal procedures as soon as possible. IG Punjab directed that the crackdown should be intensified to arrest dangerous proclaimed offenders involved in other serious crimes including murder, robbery and kidnapping for ransom. IG Punjab further said that regular information sharing should be done with FIA, Interpol and other departments and RPOs, DPOs should personally monitor the crackdown to arrest dangerous criminals and proclaimed offenders.
