Islamabad: The Punjab Police force continues to prioritize the well-being of its officers and their families, with over Rs 1.43 billion allocated for welfare programs this year.
A significant portion of the funds, exceeding Rs 451.388 million, has been disbursed as educational scholarships for the children of police personnel. Over Rs 408.640 million was distributed as marriage grants for the daughters of employees. Healthcare needs were also addressed, with more than Rs 205.937 million dedicated to medical treatment assistance.
Further financial support includes over Rs 140.872 million allocated for family maintenance allowances and over Rs 180.343 million disbursed as retirement benefits. Funeral expenses for the families of deceased personnel received over Rs 38.850 million, while over Rs 10.2 million was provided as immediate financial aid.
Inspector General of Police, Dr. Usman Anwar, emphasized that the Police Welfare Fund and revenue generated from welfare initiatives are being utilized to alleviate the financial burdens faced by police employees and their families.
