Lahore: In a concerted effort to boost the health and wellness of its police force, the Punjab Police, following the directives of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, is intensifying its hepatitis control initiatives. Project Director of the Hepatitis Control Program Punjab, Dr. Sophia Bilal, visited the Central Police Office to discuss and advance these health measures.
According to Punjab Police, Dr. Bilal met with DIG Establishment-1 Dr. Suleiman Sultan Rana to discuss the acceleration of hepatitis vaccinations among police personnel. They agreed to expedite the process, with plans to complete vaccinations for remaining officers in Lahore and other districts promptly. Additionally, medication for treating hepatitis B and C will be directly delivered to the homes of affected personnel.
Dr. Rana highlighted the successful collaboration with the health department, noting that the vaccination of 5,614 Lahore police officers and over 32,000 officers from other districts is expected to be completed by next month. He stressed the importance of maintaining a healthy force to effectively combat crime, emphasizing that the health and welfare of police officers are paramount.
The meeting also covered further measures to enhance the health welfare of the police force, aligning with the Chief Minister’s vision for a healthier police community.
