Mianwali, Punjab Police demonstrated exceptional valor and preparedness by successfully repelling a coordinated terrorist attack on the Qabol Khan check post in Mianwali on Sunday night. As per the Punjab Police, a group of 12 to 13 terrorists launched an assault from three sides, employing heavy gunfire and advanced weaponry. The timely and effective response of the officers on duty, utilizing comprehensive strategies and modern technology, forced the attackers to retreat.
According to Punjab Police, The incident, which saw the police facing rocket launchers, heavy firing, and hand grenades, underscores the high-risk environment in which the Punjab Police operates at inter-provincial border posts. The use of modern thermal cameras played a crucial role in tracking the assailants under the cover of darkness, allowing the police to mount a strong defensive action that ultimately led to the terrorists’ withdrawal.
In the aftermath of the attack, the District Police Officer (DPO) of Mianwali promptly arrived at the scene with additional personnel to initiate a search operation aimed at apprehending the terrorists. Inspector General of Punjab Police, Dr. Usman Anwar, extended his congratulations to the team for their bravery and reaffirmed the force’s unwavering commitment to safeguarding the province’s borders against terrorist threats.
Dr. Anwar highlighted the critical role of border check post personnel as frontline defenders against terrorism, asserting that the Punjab Police serves as a formidable barrier against terrorist infiltrations.
