Lahore, In a commendable operation by the Punjab Police, a hostage who was kidnapped for ransom from Lahore has been safely recovered from Mianwali. The police arrested all five individuals involved in the kidnapping, following directives from IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar for swift and just legal proceedings against the culprits.
According to Punjab Police, Khurram Nazir Khan, who was abducted from his advertising agency office in Lahore Defense two days ago, was taken to the Wata Khel area in Mianwali by the kidnappers. They demanded a substantial ransom from Khan’s family for his release. Acting on orders from IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar, DPO Mianwali Matiullah Khan and his team utilized modern technology and intelligence to trace and apprehend the kidnappers in a successful raid conducted in the Kacha Wata Khel area, near the Indus River.
The operation led to the arrest of Muhammad Hassan, Muhammad Shahzad Khan, Muhammad Ali, Nadeem Haider, and Muhammad Aamir. Additionally, two vehicles used in the crime were seized. IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar lauded the efforts of DPO Mianwali and his team for the safe recovery of the hostage and emphasized the importance of completing legal proceedings promptly to ensure the accused are held accountable for their actions.
This successful rescue operation underscores the Punjab Police’s commitment to combating crime and safeguarding citizens, reinforcing public trust in law enforcement’s capability to protect and serve.
Peshawar, A 14-member delegation from the Mid-Career Management Course at the National Institute of Management Islamabad received an in-depth briefing today at the Central Police Office in Peshawar about the operations, structure, and challenges of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police.
According to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police, Additional IGP Operations Muhammad Ali Baba Khel provided a comprehensive overview of the police force’s organizational setup, its strategic location, and the pivotal role it plays in combating terrorism within the province. The briefing underscored the significant sacrifices made by the police force in maintaining security and public order.
The delegation was introduced to the police force’s mission, its strategic action plans to address current challenges, and the recent reforms implemented under the guidance of Inspector General Akhtar Hayat Khan. These reforms include the reorganization of the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) and the Special Branch, the expansion of CTD, Investigation, and Special Branch operations into the tribal districts, and efforts to strengthen and integrate the police structure.
Emphasis was also placed on the adoption of technology-based policing strategies, measures to enhance service delivery to the public, effective policing tactics, and initiatives aimed at improving the welfare and capacity of the police personnel.
