Punjab Police Successfully Extradites Dangerous Criminals from UAE

Lahore, Under the directives of Inspector General Police Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, the Punjab Police has intensified its crackdown against proclaimed offenders and fugitives, successfully extraditing four individuals involved in serious crimes like murder and kidnapping from the United Arab Emirates.

According to the Punjab Police, this year has seen the arrest and extradition of 134 fugitives from various countries, including the United States, the United Kingdom, South Africa, Europe, the United Arab Emirates, and Saudi Arabia. Among those recently apprehended is Sadaqat Ali, a wanted A-category dangerous fugitive involved in a kidnapping case. In 2019, Ali kidnapped three children and fled to the UAE. After issuing a red notice through Interpol and continuous coordination with the UAE government, the Punjab Police secured his arrest and the safe return of the children to Pakistan.

Other extradited criminals include Qaiser Altaf, Mohammad Younas, and Ejaz Khan. Ejaz Khan escaped to Dubai after committing murder in Gujarat, while Qaiser Altaf and Muhammad Younas, wanted for different murder cases in Rajanpur, were also apprehended following red notices issued by Interpol. These fugitives were recently brought back to Pakistan and handed over to the respective district police upon arrival at Sialkot Airport.

IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar lauded the efforts of the Special Operation Cell Gujranwala team and other units involved in the arrests. He emphasized the importance of swiftly completing legal procedures to ensure these criminals face justice. Dr. Anwar also stressed intensifying the crackdown against serious offenders, enhancing information sharing with FIA, Interpol, and other law enforcement agencies. He directed Regional Police Officers (RPOs) and District Police Officers (DPOs) to closely supervise the crackdown and enhance its effectiveness.

This successful operation demonstrates Punjab Police’s commitment to bringing fugitives to justice, irrespective of their location, reinforcing the rule of law and the safety of citizens.
