Lahore, In a notable display of athleticism and strength, the Punjab Police athletes have garnered significant success at the 20th Men’s Classic National Powerlifting Championship 2024, securing a total of 13 medals. This achievement underscores the department’s dedication not only to law enforcement but also to excellence in national sports competitions.
According to Punjab Police, the championship saw participation from over 100 athletes representing nine teams, with the Punjab Police contingent distinguishing themselves through their exceptional performances. The team clinched three gold, seven silver, and three bronze medals, demonstrating their prowess and competitive spirit.
The medalists received commendation and support during their visit to the Sports Board at the Central Police Office, where they were met by Director General Pakistan Police Sports Board, Additional IG Finance Riaz Nazir Gara, and Chief Sports Officer Athar Ismail. In recognition of their achievements, Additional IG Welfare Riyaz Nazir Gara awarded the athletes CC-I certificates and cash prizes, reinforcing the department’s commitment to nurturing and rewarding sporting talent.
