Punjab Police Secures Additional Petrol Funding Following IG’s Initiative

Lahore, Through the determined efforts of Inspector General Police Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, Punjab Police vehicles will no longer face a petrol supply issue. The Punjab government has allocated an additional sum of Rs 35 crore to address this matter, ensuring a steady fuel supply for police vehicles across the province.

According to a news release by the Punjab Police, DIG Finance and Welfare Ghazi Muhammad Salahuddin confirmed that these funds have been disseminated online to every police district in Punjab via the Finance Department. Specifically, over Rs. 05 crore 51 lakh was allocated online for the Lahore Police’s petrol expenses. Other major districts, such as Rawalpindi, Multan, Faisalabad, and Gujranwala, have also received online funds earmarked for fuel purchases.

In addition to the districts, the online funds have been sent to the Additional IG Investigations, DIG Traffic Punjab, CTO Lahore, and other chief traffic officers, facilitating uninterrupted fuel availability for their vehicles. DIG Finance and Welfare, Ghazi Muhammad Salahuddin, provided more insight into future allocations, revealing that in the first week of November, Punjab Police will be further bolstered by Rs. 03.50 billion in funds from the provincial government. This allocation will ensure an ongoing fuel supply for the police fleet in the subsequent quarter.

Emphasizing the crucial role played by IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar in securing this funding, DIG Finance and Welfare Ghazi Muhammad Salahuddin stated that all police units, including the CCPO Lahore, CPOs, DPOs, and CTOs, have been informed of the online fund notification.
