Punjab Police Resolves Over 98,000 Complaints Through 1787 IGP Complaint Center


Lahore: Punjab Police has successfully addressed over 98,000 public grievances through its 1787 IGP Complaint Center this year, ensuring timely responses and resolutions.



According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Punjab, the Inspector General of Police Punjab, Abdul Kareem, emphasized that the complaints lodged by citizens are being resolved promptly, adhering to standard operating procedures. The IG also highlighted improvements in the monitoring mechanisms to enhance the effectiveness of the complaint center. Additionally, District Police Officers are actively overseeing the complaints to ensure swift resolution.



Notably, the resolved grievances include 47,152 complaints related to case registrations and 22,339 concerning delayed investigations. Other categories addressed include 7,163 complaints related to police services and 21,851 departmental and miscellaneous complaints. The center has also managed 5,053 complaints regarding arrests, 7,434 concerning recoveries, and 4,849 linked to faulty investigations. Additionally, the center has concluded 2,287 complaints about the cancellation of false cases and 1,682 regarding changes of investigation.



Inspector General Abdul Kareem has encouraged citizens to freely contact the 1787 IGP Complaint Center for any issues involving police officials.
