Punjab Police Report Major Successes in Statewide Crackdown on Crime

Lahore: Under the leadership of Inspector General Police Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar, Punjab Police have reported substantial progress in their ongoing mission to eradicate serious crimes and apprehend dangerous criminals across the province. This vigorous effort spans all districts, including Lahore, and focuses on dismantling criminal networks and recovering stolen property.

According to Punjab Police, from January to June this year, 3,176 gangs were dismantled, and 7,934 criminals were arrested. Police operations have led to the recovery of stolen property valued at Rs. 5.33 billion and Rs. 3.42 billion in cash from wanted criminals. Additionally, police forces have recovered 947 vehicles, 13,835 motorcycles, 1,292 tolas of gold, 5,593 mobile phones, and 3,233 cattle, all of which were returned to their rightful owners.

IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar praised the teams for their effectiveness in suppressing crime and urged them to intensify their efforts, particularly against drug trafficking and organized crime. He emphasized the importance of targeting crime hotspots and leveraging modern technology to eliminate criminal elements from the province.
