Punjab Police Provides Residential Plots to Families of Martyrs

Lahore, In a significant gesture of remembrance and support, Punjab Police, under the leadership of Inspector General Police Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar, is ensuring the provision of residential plots to the families of police officers who were martyred before 2017.

According to Punjab Police, a ceremony was held at the Central Police Office to distribute plots to families of eight martyrs from the Lahore Police. The event was attended by Senior Member Board of Revenue Nabeel Javed as a special guest, who was honored with a salute by an active squad of police upon his arrival. Javed, along with IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar, visited the martyrs’ memorial in the Central Police Office and recited Fatiha in honor of the martyrs.

During the ceremony, ownership papers for residential plots were handed over to the families of eight more martyrs of the Lahore Police. IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar highlighted that the Punjab Police has arranged residential plots for around 580 martyr families to date, located in modern housing schemes. He expressed gratitude towards those who supported the initiative, noting that financial assistance for constructing houses on these plots is being provided from an endowment fund.

Nabeel Javed, Member Board of Revenue, praised the initiative, emphasizing that caring for the families of police martyrs is a national responsibility and recognizing the martyrs as heroes. The event was also attended by senior police officials, including Additional IG Welfare Riaz Nazir Gara, DIG Welfare Ghazi Salah ud din, DIG Operations Lahore Ali Nasir Rizvi, DIG Establishment Dr. Inam Waheed, SSP Admin Atif Nazir, and AIG Development Sahibzada Bilal Umar.

This initiative reflects the commitment of the Punjab Police to honor the sacrifices of its officers and provide support to their families, reinforcing the respect and gratitude towards those who have laid down their lives in the line of duty.
